GRENACHE PIQUETTE

R.O’NEILL LATTA  |  2020
Grenache Piquette
Alonso Vineyard, Agua Dulce, California
5%

This lightly sparkling grenache piquette was made from the skins of grenache grapes passed over cider. Picked on October 4, 2020, the grenache was fermented dry in a stainless steel tank. A Champenoise method was then used with presently fermenting cider and local honey to keep a bit of gas in the piquette upon bottling. The juice was then disgorged to release some of the energy and sediment from the wine bottles. The result is a textural but light pink sparkling beverage with low alcohol and refreshing aromatics.
