Worthy Wine Works Fundraiser

Why is art archiving worthy work? The value of small-scale art archives, unlike a bottle of wine, is not always simply captured in a number. What makes our work as archivists worthy of support is the efforts we put toward protecting and preserving what makes life meaningful. Like wine's place at the holiday dinner table, art archives aim to strengthen the bonds that bring and keep people together, enriching life in the process.

Worthy Wine Works is a limited edition natural wine fundraiser. Twelve artists—Cauleen Smith, Mario Ayala, Rodrigo Valenzuela, Kang Seung Lee, Marisa Takal, Alex Heilbron, Zoe Latta, Lauren Quin, Lauren Satlowski, Cassi Namoda, Nick Sethi, and Dave Muller—created wine labels for LACA, paired with twelve unique natural wines, all produced in Central California.

12 Artists  ·  25 Bottles per Artist  ·  300 Bottles Total

In addition to the holiday wine, you can purchase sculptural accessories created by artists Patricia Fernández and Nic Gaby. Gaby's hand-crafted canvas bags are designed with linking systems that make carrying multiple bottles easy. Fernández's hand-carved wine stoppers reuse wood from her past sculptures.

This collaborative project between the archive, the artists, and the vintner inspires us to create connections between small edition books, art ephemera, and small batch natural wines. Sharing wine among friends or the temporariness of viewing performance and video with one another feels rarer and more special than ever; we want to highlight this. LACA worked closely with R. O’Neill Latta Fermentory to bottle, cap, and transport the wines to the archive. Our friends at Psychic Wines generously assisted in making this project possible. With a purchase of single or multiple limited edition natural wines, you support future LACA programming and new collections in 2022.

Los Angeles Contemporary Archive (LACA) warmly welcomes further donations. Help support our library, archive, year-long programming, and our community of artists by making a donation today.
