This merlot was picked in 99°F late Summer air from Brent Mayeaux’s Pinot Vineyard in Santa Cruz, California, on September 6, 2020. The grapes were stomped that day by foot and left on the skins for an 18 hour maceration before being pressed to stainless for settling. The juice was raised in glass and is the color of dark purple velvet with notes of bell pepper and a light hint of dusky smoke.

APPLE-CONCORD

R.O’NEILL LATTA | 2020Field-blend Cider 66%, Concord wine 33%
Mary’s Orchard, Corralitos, California
9%

This concord was sourced from a single, massive old vining pergola, picked on September 27, 2020, with apples picked September 26, 2020. The two fruits were fermented separately, with concord macerated until it was dry fermenting. Roughly 66% of the cider was blended with 33% of the concord wine to create a color unfamiliar in wine bottles. The true grape flavor of concord is eased by the soft apple cider and blended to create a balanced and refreshing beverage.

Alex Heilbron Alex Heilbron’s work addresses how the female body in physical, psychological, political, and cultural aspects is perceived, both in public and private spaces. Some topics that Heilbron’s work explores include play and withholding as forms of resistance to expectations of progress and productivity.

GRENACHE-PLUM
R.O’NEILL LATTA | 2020
Grenache-Plum
Alonso Vineyard, Aqua Dulce, California
14%

This is a boozy expression of grenache and plummy green fruit. Grenache grapes were picked from Alonso Vineyard on October 4, 2020, and fermented in a stainless steel tank. This juice was then blended with plums, picked the first two weeks of July between Brent Mayeaux’s vineyard site and roadside trees in the Santa Cruz area. The plums were given a semi-carbonic maceration in advance of blending. The juice is a tangy haze of sunset pinks and purples with chewier fruit and a present weight due to the wine’s underlying viscosity.

SAUVIGNON BLANC
R.O’NEILL LATTA | 2020
Sauvignon Blanc
Brent’s Pinot Vineyard, Santa Cruz, California 9%

This sauvignon blanc was picked on August 29, 2020, from a vine that had wrapped itself around a fence on Brent’s Pinot Vineyard in Santa Cruz, California. The fruit was crushed and destemmed by hand and then followed with a semi-carbonic, forty hour maceration. The wine is a cloudy, canary-yellow with a soft minerality and a crisp saline bite at the finish.

Cassi Namoda Cassi Namoda uses painting as an exercise in crossing cultural and historical references between her country of origin and the rest of the world.

Using colors of various intensities that range from the subtle to the acidic, applied in raw and expressive brushstrokes, the artist explores and cross-pollinates religious symbols with literary characters and real people, forging complex narratives. Namoda studies the unlikely meeting points between antagonistic mythologies and gives new meaning to symbols through boldly constructed images.

PLUM-APPLE JERKUM
R.O’NEILL LATTA | 2020
Plum-Apple Jerkum
Santa Cruz, California
9%

This is a blend of forgotten centurion apples from Mary’s Orchard in Corralitos, California, plums from Brent’s Pinot Vineyard in Santa Cruz and some plums hanging within reach from roadside trees along the way. The plums were picked during the first two weeks of July and fermented separately in a stainless steel tank with a semi-carbonic maceration before blending with the juice from a field blend of apple cider. A ‘Jerkum’ is the term for an apple-plum beverage in the United Kingdom. This is a drink that lies somewhere between alcohol and juice, refreshing with a sour-candy quality, some notes of almond extract, honeysuckle flowers, and green plummy fruit.

Dave Muller Dave Muller is a contemporary artist that lives and works in Los Angeles and West Glover, Vermont. First gaining visibility within inner art circles for his hand-drawn announcements for fellow artist’s shows, Muller has become somewhat of an institution for this craft. These announcements are both critical and congratulatory of the art world, as he relates a public and inclusive spirit derived in an institutional system.

RIDER ROAD UNTOPPED CIDER
R.O’NEILL LATTA | 2020
Still Cider
Mary’s Orchard, Corralitos, California
8%

This is a field blend, still cider made from Pippin, Gravenstein, and Bellefleur apples, which were all picked on September 26, 2020. The apples were left to sweat, then pressed in a stainless steel tank and racked to a half-filled barrel with no top-off until bottling. This allowed for the cider to oxidize before bottling, giving the juice a deeper minerality with notes of toasted nuts and apple compote.

This lightly sparkling grenache piquette was made from the skins of grenache grapes passed over cider. Picked on October 4, 2020, the grenache was fermented dry in a stainless steel tank. A Champenoise method was then used with presently fermenting cider and local honey to keep a bit of gas in the piquette upon bottling. The juice was then disgorged to release some of the energy and sediment from the wine bottles. The result is a textural but light pink sparkling beverage with low alcohol and refreshing aromatics.Nick SethiNick Sethi is an American-born photographer and bookmaker of Indian heritage currently living in NYC. This Newton Pippin was made from apples fallen by wind or weight, then picked from the ground; the fruit from this orchard hasn’t been touched for over 15 years. This is a single varietal, Newton Pippin apple cider. The fruit was first pressed to tote, then transferred to a barrel where it was fermented for 6 months—a still cider driven by acid with present crunch and citrusy pith.

This is an early picking of Grenache grapes from Alonso Vineyard on October 4, 2020. The grapes were stomped by foot prior to a fourteen hour maceration on the skins, then pressed to a stainless tank with the lees left inside. The result is a pink, peppercorn-colored and dark rosato style wine with notes of prickly pear, anise and salty breeze.
